A former Mapleton employee is under investigation after the city found irregularities in its financial department.
After the city discovered the problems, it requested an investigation by the Utah County Sheriff's Office, according to a statement from Mapleton Mayor Laurel Brady. Although the investigation is ongoing, when the employee was confronted with initial results, the employee resigned.
