American Fork is a city in Utah County, Utah, United States, at the foot of Mount Timpanogos in the Wasatch Range, north of Utah Lake. It is part of the Provo–Orem, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 21,941 at the 2000 census. It has been rapidly growing since the 1970s.

On June 23, 2009, the American Fork City Council approved a resolution increasing the sewer rates. This rate increase is because the Timpanogos Special Service District increased its treatment fee by 26% effective July 1, 2009. Timpanogos Special Service District is working to address and improve the treatment process in order to eliminate the odor that currently emanates from the treatment plant, and to do that there are increased costs.

Effective September 1, 2009, new parking measures will take effect for many residential streets that are in the vicinity of the American Fork High School. See attached map delineating streets with new parking regulations. Following is a summary of the new parking regulations:

Each residence who resides on a street where permit parking is designated will be eligible to obtain parking permits for visitors. Permits may be obtained at the American Fork Public Work Department, 275 East 200 North. For further information on obtaining parking permits, please contact the Public Works Department at 801-763-3050.
